Overview

At Sam Salman Designs, we take pride in creating exceptional custom costumes, garments, and design work. Due to the bespoke nature of our services, we maintain the following refund policy to ensure clarity for all parties.

Custom Orders and Commissions

Non-Refundable Deposits

  • All custom orders require a deposit (typically 50% of the total project cost)
  • Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced
  • Deposits cover design time, material sourcing, and initial fabrication
  • Cancellation before work begins may qualify for a partial deposit refund (minus administrative fees)

Final Payment

  • Final payment is due upon project completion and before delivery
  • Completed custom work is non-refundable, as items are made specifically to the client’s specifications
  • Payment must be received in full before items are shipped or released

Approval Process

  • Clients will receive design sketches, fabric swatches, or mockups for approval (when applicable)
  • Changes requested after approval may incur additional fees
  • Final approval signatures indicate acceptance of the design and specifications

Production Work (Film/TV/Theater)

Project-Based Services

  • Costume design and fabrication for productions require signed contracts
  • Payment schedules are outlined in individual contracts
  • Refunds are subject to contract terms and project completion status
  • Early termination fees may apply based on work completed

Ready-to-Wear Items (If Applicable)

Returns

  • Unworn, unwashed items with original tags may be returned within 14 days of delivery
  • Items must be in original condition
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7-10 business days of receiving the return

Exchanges

  • We offer exchanges for different sizes or colors (subject to availability)
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping; we cover shipping for the exchange item
  • Exchange requests must be made within 14 days of delivery

Non-Returnable Items

The following cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Custom or personalized items
  • Items marked as “Final Sale.”
  • Undergarments or intimate apparel
  • Items showing signs of wear or alteration
  • Items without original tags or packaging

Damaged or Defective Items

Our Guarantee

If you receive an item that is damaged or defective:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage
  • We will provide a replacement, repair, or full refund at our discretion
  • Return shipping for damaged/defective items will be covered by us

Manufacturing Defects

  • We stand behind the quality of our work
  • Defects in materials or workmanship will be repaired or refunded
  • Normal wear and tear is not covered

Rental Items (If Applicable)

Rental Returns

  • Rental items must be returned by the agreed-upon date
  • Late returns incur daily late fees
  • Damage beyond normal wear will be charged to the security deposit
  • Lost items will be charged at full replacement value

Cancellation Policy

Before Work Begins

  • Full refund minus 15% administrative fee
  • Must be requested in writing within 24 hours of order placement

After Work Has Commenced

  • The deposit is forfeited
  • Additional charges may apply based on work completed and materials purchased
  • Non-returnable materials will be billed to the client

Timeline Changes

  • We understand production schedules change
  • Reasonable timeline adjustments can be made by mutual agreement
  • Rush fees may be adjusted if the timeline is extended
  • Significant delays may result in storage fees

Consultation Fees

  • Initial consultation fees are non-refundable
  • Consultation fees may be applied toward the final project cost for booked projects
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled consultation may forfeit the fee

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  2. Provide the order number and the reason for the refund request
  3. Include photos if applicable (for damaged/defective items)
  4. Await authorization before returning any items

Processing Time: Approved refunds are processed within 7-10 business days

Exceptions and Special Circumstances

We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you have special circumstances, please contact us to discuss options. We will work with you when possible, though we cannot guarantee exceptions to this policy.
